About

Just some guy.

Wow, I can hear the crickets .... :)

yes, it is beautifully tranquil here in Hai (sorry to interrupt the silence)
In the world of Hai:
It would be nice to be able to link to your own "About" page, so you can see what it looks like.
4y
Hmmmm. Yeah. You can click on your own name on a post, but that's not exactly obvious. Thanks, let me think about where best to put that.
Glad to see work continuing here. I can't seem to reply to posts anymore, though, and I see some more errors on Brent's About page:

About

D'oh! Thanks for the bug reports. Fixed both.
4y
No problem. I figure I can add some minimal value while I browse. :D
Hey, @"Brent P. Newhall", A couple notes again.

1) Seems like anybody can remove the "Editable" tag from an Editable post. Means that anyone can lock it up, not just the original poster. I don't think that's a good idea. :D

2) Looks like another DB problem in Worlds and Teams for me ...

From Worlds (I clicked on the "Hai" world tag in my side bar):
Warning: mysqli_stmt::bind_result(): Number of bind variables doesn't match number of fields in prepared statement in /home/brentnewhall/hai.social/functions/posts.php on line 25

From Teams (I clicked on a team I made called "HAI!"):
Fatal error: Call to a member function execute() on a non-object in /home/brentnewhall/hai.social/database.php on line 124

Thanks for the feedback!

1) Good point. I'll disable the buttons if someone other than the author edits a post.

2) Oops! Fixed.
4y
The good news is that this is all part of a redesign that standardizes the queries. While it causes more bugs in the short term, it should decrease them in the long term.
I broke the site ... :(
4y
Oh, whoops! Sorry about that. I didn't bring over a database table.

That's weird; I could have sworn I had created an editable post over here to ensure it was working!

Anyway, back in business now.
Leave a message. :P

This is Brent, editing your post. :-)

This is BOB still able to edit the post.
I have to not get so distracted. I forgot to come back here and check things out more regularly. @"SinbadEV", you still on here somewhere? ;)
4y
I still log in most days to see if there are any new features to play with.
4y
Cool, thanks for keeping an eye out!

I've got editable posts mostly working, and I've designed the code for "sticky"ing posts. I think once that's done, I'm going to focus on adding content, especially in the Role-Playing room ( hai.social/room.php?i=95bc5ac4-5931-11e4-84d1-008cfa06fe7c ).
In the world of Hai:
Another small note ... when I look at the "All" Teams view, I can see my posts. However, if I select one of my custom Teams, my posts do not show up. It was a bit disconcerting to write a post and then have my view jump back to my "HAI!" team view, and not see my own post.

Should your own posts show up in your Team views, or should they not? I can see a case for either situation, but I'm not a fan of having my posts show up in "All" but not in other Teams (and you can't add yourself to any Teams). Something to think about ...
4y
Good point, yeah, I'll have to think about that. It should be consistent.

What do you all think? Should your posts show up in all your team streams, or none of them?
In the world of Hai:
I like the set of features you are cultivating here. They look like they'll be interesting and useful for a small community.

I don't suppose you're working on a stats page of some sort, or have one already? (number of users, number of posts, activity levels throughout the day ... etc.)
4y
Thanks!

Stats are a great idea! I just put this together: hai.social/stats.php
4y
That's a nice start, and gives an idea of the size of your current audience. :D
